GATES is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the Grand Aurora Award in the category of Public Works/Environmental Projects for the construction of the Interpretive Center at Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve in Lee County. GATES also won the Aurora Award for the same project. In order to win the Grand Aurora Award, a company must first win the Aurora Award which makes the project eligible to win the Grand Aurora Award. The Grand Aurora Award is bestowed upon the highest point-winner in a division of categories. The project is currently awaiting LEED Silver Rated certification for the project and upon certification will be the first commercial LEED certified project in Lee County. In addition, GATES was awarded another Aurora Award in the category of Commercial Land Development Mixed-Use Facility for construction of Challenger Middle and Patriot Elementary schools in Lee County.
The nationally recognized Southeastern Builders Conference Aurora Awards honor builders, planners, architects, developers, designers, interior merchandisers and other building industry professionals within a 12-state region stretching from Texas to Virginia. Presentation of the Aurora Awards took place at a gala event held at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida on August 2nd.
